Continuing Education For Restoration Professionals in Rochester, MN

ServiceMaster of Rochester offers continuing education for insurance agents, adjusters, real estate professionals and anyone who is interested in learning how to serve their customers better.

The courses cover a variety of topics, including emergency pre-cleaning, water damage, pack-out services, and smoke damage and odor removal. They are designed to educate insurance agents, adjusters and real estate agents on the benefits of mitigating property loss for both carriers as well as policyholders.

All courses are approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for three hours of Continuing Education.

We offer the following courses:

Water Damage Restoration -- This class explains how water damage can occur and shows its effects on carpet, wood floors, and other building materials. It also covers secondary damage, along with steps that can be taken to reduce or minimize the damage. Also included are: Best water removal processes and equipment for various building materials; principles of drying and dehumidification; mold growth; the use of antimicrobials, and odor removal issues.

Smoke and Odor Mitigation –- This course explores the chemistry of fire, along with the effects of smoke, chemical vapors and acidic gases on structures and household contents The class identifies property items that are at risk and shows how emergency mitigation of corrosion can minimize further damage. Odor removal methods, such as ozone and air cleaning, also are explained.

Mold Remediation -- Participants are introduced to the science of mold and learn about its potentially harmful effects on building materials and occupants. This class shows how mold grows, how it spreads, and what actions should be taken to remove mold in a safe and effective manner. It also describes procedures such as containment, negative air, and the proper use of personal protective equipment in removing mold.

Ethics - If You Don't Live It, You Don't Believe It -- This course covers the MN Insurance requirement for Ethics.  It discusses the sources of ethical framework, how to practice good decision making, how to apply the learned framework to decision making, and real life case studies on ethical situations.

Water Damage Mitigation for Manufactured Homes -- Not all homes are created equal.  You will learn the design and construction practices in building manufactured homes and how it differs from regular homes.  We will discuss the challenges encountered during water losses in modular or manufactured homes and why it is important to fully disclose policy details to your insured.

Mitigating Personal Property Packout Claims -- This course will look at them many types of losses that can be encountered in your insured's home and why a property packout is necessary and can positively affect both the insured and the insurance company.  We will take you through the steps necessary to understand the entire packout process from start to finish.
